Giveaway

... A view form our room in Sydney...
Back home from Sydney and what a wonderful time we had.
Arrived on the Saturday morning, had lunch then a massage.....ummmmm. that's the life....lol.
Went to the "Cirque Du Soleil" while we were up there....what a fantastic show, if you ever get the chance to go it is well worth it.
Caught up with some dear friends of ours, Paul, John and sister in law Denise. Had dinner on the Saturday night, at John and Denise's fabulous renovated 3 story warehouse apartment 10 minutes form the heart of Sydney.
We lost touch with Paul and his family about 10 years back when he moved to Sydney. He googled my name and found me again....what wonderful things computers are.
If any of you have a story about finding old friends or relatives on the computer I would love to hear from you.
I will be giving away 1 of my "Memory" patterns as a prize.
The finishing date for this giveaway will be Thursday the 12th of September.
(mention my giveaway on your blog to get an extra entry).

Can't wait to hear from you.

Hi Kerry, Fortunately (or unfortunately) I have never lost a Family member or a Friend that I have had to look for on the Internet. Sometime I would like to loose one or two family members, but they keep hanging around. (giggle) So glad that it worked out for you.

Hi Kerry, years (and years!) ago when I was doing HSC my best friend was an american exchange student, Karen. After she went back to the US we kept in touch for a few years, and she came and visited a couple of times but when we were about 23 we lost touch. Twenty years later I took up the challenge of trying to find her. It took a few months on and off but eventually I found an email address via a charity for a woman with the same name. So I took the plunge, emailed her and asked if she was 'my Karen'. I really thought it was a needle in a haystack search. She replied the next day, and yes, she was 'my Karen'. She is now living in Indonesia with her husband and children. We've kept in touch, and one of these days I am going to go and visit her.

Hi Kerry,
haven't lost a friend but did find some of my hubby's family that he didn't know existed while looking on the computer. It is very interesting to look for people and there are lots of neat places to look.

Hi Kerry,
I lost touch with my best friend from High School,we had been inseparable for 4 years and her parents didn't approve of her then boyfriend and took her away, 1985 was the last time I saw her.
I had been registered as a member of the Schoolfriends website and wrote a few clues so if someone wanted to track me down they could, and she found them in 2003 and called me out of the blue. We were both so excited and she flew across to Tassie from Adelaide to visit for a week. We still have so much in common, we both quilt, make dolls, bags and the rest. We catch up once a year now, my turn to visit her this year. We even post each other quilting pressies for birthdays!!
I'm just so glad we're still kindred spirits!!!

I had a girlfriend from high school that I hadn't talked to since I graduated some 20 years ago her brother and I were in the same class and she was a year older and the 3 of us walked to school and home everyday. From Jr high to high school and we happen to be on classmates.com and found each other however her brother was killed in a freak accident and so we felt we had a common bond since I was grieving with my husband also being killed and now she is going to come see me for a long week-end in October and I a m so excited I can't wait. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share my happiness about finding my long lost friend that i share a common bond with...

Hi Kerry, I found my daughter's best friend from primary school. Many years ago we lived in Australia for 4 years. My oldest daughter went to school there and made friends. After returning to the Netherlands they lost touch. Through Schoolfriends I found her best friend. And now they have about 30 years to catch up on.

Hi again Kerry : )

I received an email from an old friend from when I was 3 - 12 years old. He saw my name added to an old work email list of my fathers previous work place in the Philippines. I was so touched he made the effort. I was able to catch up with the whole gang and rejuvinate friendships so far away from so long ago... If only I could travel the world and see them all again. I was especially excited to hear of marriage and children - hard to believe them actually as parents!
