Mothers Day Giveaway

Its Monday morning and time for our "giveaway" to begin.
I have chosen 2 patterns shown above for the prize, you have a choice of either. Both patterns seemed to suit the occasion "Fresh Flowers" cushion and "Dimples & Harry" a mother & son.

As I just loved hearing all your stories about Antiques quilts, whether you had one or not was just so lovely.

All you need you to do is leave a comment to share with us , what you did for Mother's Day (and mention my giveaway on your blog to get an extra entry) to be in the draw for a free pattern of your choice from the above 2.
Entries close Sunday 19th May.
Good Luck
Kerry

Hi Kerry, I spent most of the day in bed with a bad head cold but I did manage to make a start on Tilly, Milly and Molly. I've got both of the patterns, Fresh Flowers was given to us at the Autumn Gathering and I bought Dimples and Harry there but please enter me in the drawer as either would make a lovely pressie for my MIL.
Off to my post to post about the giveaway

This year, all four of my children were home for Mother's Day. My mother in law came over, and my mother lives with us! I prepared dinner for everyone, in honor of our mothers! Lasagna, salad and garlic bread. We sat, drank coffee and chatted for a long while.

BTW....my kids pitched in and bought me a gift certificate for my LQS!

Any time spent with family is a good time!

For me it was a long chat on the phone with my mom, a bit of time working at putting my sewing room back together and way too much time suffering with a killer migraine :-(

I love the Fresh Flowers cushion.

Hi Kerry, I think that you are a teaser! I had my mind made up to buy the Fresh Flowers and then I looked at your site and ordered the Vintage Floral Dishes. I love all of your patterns.
I have my mom living with me, so I had my family to my house to have a wonderful Mothers day for my mom.

I forgot, I will post about your give away on my blog.

I just found your blog and I love your pillow pattern!

One of my DD's made breakfast in bed for me, what a treat! Then my wonderful husband made us a yummy dinner. I really got spoiled today!!

Hi Kerry, we spent the morning in church, then out to lunch and home for a movie afternoon. Had lovely phone calls from my children in Australia yesterday.

Jenn said...

Mother's Day has been pretty relaxing. After church DD went right to bed & DH took a nap so I was able to get some sewing done. I'm working on a quilt with my sister & I think she chose the hardest one in the book! I'm really honing my star skills so that's good. I stuffed myself at dinner & am ready to get back to sewing. Hope you all enjoyed your Mothers Day!

In Norway we have Mothers day the second sunday in february. And on our mothers day I was all alone back home having a sewing day. Both my children have moved away but we had long phone calls and I got flowers from them. Yesterday on your mothers day my DD (who now have moved home after ending school) watched a very good movie and had great conversations.

What a lovely choice of patterns.
I'm afraid here in the UK we did the whole Mother's Day in March, but just the same I did phone my mom in Canada to wish her well and spend a lovely Sunday with my family.

Hanne said...

Hi :-)
Here in Norway we have Mother's Day the second Sunday of February, so no special celebration yesterday. However, it was a grand day to spend with family, which I did, and I also was able to finish all the stitchery on a project, which was ever so good too :-) Please include me in your drawing :-)

This year was a very quiet and reflective Mother's Day. My mother in law who was like my own mother to me passed away last Monday and was buried on Friday. She was 88 so it wasn't unexpected but still hard to accept. I already miss her. We went out to eat for lunch and my grandkids brought me a plant for my garden window and that was about it.
I love the Fresh Flowers pattern, it looks so cheerful and that is what I need right now.

Hi Kerry: My only child lives far away in Europe, so after Im with her in the morning I spent the day working on a very colourful commission of an art quilt. Very cold day - no gardening for me!!

I received phone calls and/or visits from my children. There are also beautiful flowers gracing my table. After church we visited my mom along with my siblings and spouses . It was a very nice day.

I have to say it wasn't actually Mothers' Day here in the UK - we celebrate it in the middle of Lent usually early to mid March - but I spent yesterday watching my elder daughter represent her region in the English U18s National Girls Rugby tournament - her team came 6th from 12 and she played like an absolute hero - it's great to be a mum

Hello from Norway,
As you already have heard, we have our Mother's Day in February. But I always phone my mother on Sundays.
Yesterday I had a nice day together with DH and one of my daugters who is at home for a few days
I'm doing the Orange Crush Mystery quilt, so I finished part 2.
I really liked the "Fresh Flowers" pattern

My 3 sons have all moved away, but sent me ecards and called. Two are expecting babies - one any day & one in December. It was a good day!

I had a happy day with my Mother-in-Law, who is one of my favorite people. Phone calls from the kids didn't hurt either.

Happy Mother's Day to you too!

Amongst many other things we had dinner at Mom and Dad's house. Before dinner we worked at caulking all the gaps on their screened in porch. Good to get it done before the mosquitoes come out! :-)

Hallo Kerry,
I sent my mum a selfmade Postcard with a lot of flowers on it. She lives about 600 km away from us. My kids gave me a hug on the phone because my daughter had to work an my son was on holliday. I had a wonderful day in my garden, with a little quilting and stitching.

Hi Kerry, I have just discovered your blog site and am loving it! Mothers Day this year ws special as my husband is away for 9 weeks. It was up to my three children to come up with something. My 13 yr olds son hopped off the bus on the way home from school and bought me a gift with his own birthday money, my second son made a bracelet at school, carefully selecting beads he thought I would like and my daughter bought a vase at school. I even scored pancakes in bed (even though it took 1 1/2 hrs and set off the fire alarm!)It was all without my hubbys help and that just made it special. Keep up the great blogging!

G'day Kerry, My day was very quiet with DH working all weekend. Although my girls made me breakfast in bed and gave me the pressies they got at school. I managed to spend most of the day sewing, piecing all the background squares for block 3 of my butterfly garden. I would love to be in the draw for your patterns.

Priscilla said...

well, I didn't have a very good mothers day.....
My kids didn't make me breakfast in bed, they didn't give me a card, they only remembered to say "Happy Mothers day" after they saw it on the TV. My husband gave me some money and said I had to buy my own present because he was working a 12h day and that was about it for me.

Although I did take my Mum out for afternoon tea and took her to the quilt shop and brought her a kit and pattern - so that part was enjoyable!

We had a great Mother's Day at our house. I started off with my first breakfast in bed. It was a little odd having my husband and boys watching me eat - like I was a zoo animal under observation, complete with reports on what I seemed to enjoy eating most. Later, my mom and inlaws came for dinner. It is so nice to have families that get along! No one is ever left out of a holiday that way. I love the pillow pattern, so please enter me into your drawing!

Smiling Hello from Istanbul:)
As it happens on May 9th like the world in general, we celebrate the Mother's Day at the same day. I'd advise you to jump in my journal what it was my surprise for my dear mother. She was so pleased when reading my article which covers her most favorite things like antique tea set, pensies etc... Later we had a brunch at a cozy cafe near marina. Lots of roses she was holding in her arms while returning back to home...

Hi Kerry,
I spent our Mother`s Day with my mother and her boyfriend, both 87, my daughter and her boyfriend, my oldest friend, we know each other 41 years and her only son is not very interested in that day, so I invited her to come and celebrate with us, my husband and my old dog Ronja, who was a mother, too.
When we went out for a meal my mother asked the waiter to bring a warm beer for her father because of his sensitive stomach and pointed to her boyfriend!!
The waiter`s face will be unforgettable for us. And my mother looked so serious!!
I will never forget this Mother`s Day.WONDERFUL.
best wishes

I am really a fake Mum...I am the Cat's Mum but since that title is taken I am Moggie's Mum. My Mum died in '03 so there are really no Mums in my life. I figured I had preached enough Mother's Day sermons to drown in, so not feeling super wonderful, stayed tucked up in bed...however
Marvellous Moggie had been shopping. She found a Cat a log
And she knew Mummy wanted a canteen of cutlery. Quite why at
this stage of her life we are not sure, but gotta scratch an itch,
So Moggie went shopping in the Cat a log and got the Purr fect Mother's Day present of a lovely canteen of cutlery for 12. At half price. She is a canny little cat that one.
So that was Mother's Day for us. Moggie snuggled up beside me in bed...lol

Well, as you already may have noticed, in Norway we celebrate Mother's day in february. But this sunday I was on my way back home from a two weeks long vacation in Florida with my family! We saw signs and special offers for Mother's day everywhere!
But for a couple years ago, I was lucky to celebrate Mother's day with my uncle and aunt, and my cousin and her family. We moms had a wonderful day! Starting with a wonderful breakfast, made by my cousins husband and daughters, with roses on the plate, fresh fruit, cards... After breakfast a romantic movie, and after that off the ladies went to the local quilt shop! A perfect Mother's day for me!
Take care!

Part of Mothers Day was spent with a "Mom and Me" consultation about fabric placement for the next round of a no-mail round robin in which we're both participating. The rest of the afternoon was shared with our DHs, NBA basketball, and Church's Fried Chicken. All in all, a most satisfying way to spend any day!

Hi Kerry,
I found your link on my friend Upstate Lisa's blog. On Mother's Day this year, I received some lovely paper flowers and giant card with nice comments that my 2 daughters made in school. We all went out for dinner at a Mexican restaurant where we were entertained by a man who would move from table to table playing the guitar and singing Mexican songs. I would love to win the flower pattern! You are very talented.

Hi Kerry! Found your blog by way of Linda - have enjoyed reading and getting to know you better. You have created many wonderful patterns and I need to look for a US source for them. I was blessed on Mother's Day to get to see both my 20-year-old dd and my 75-year-old Mom. But was a little sad - my sweet little Cockatiel flew the coop a few days earlier. I've had her for over 8 years. It was a sad Bird-Mommy Mother's Day for me. Please enter me for your drawing. BTW....do you have a pattern for those adorable triplet girl dolls on the front page of your blog?

Hi Kerry. Mother's Day was truly special for me. Our son and daughter, along with three of our six grandchildren, and some friends came to celebrate with me.
We had lunch on the patio, then dessert and coffee.
The weather was beautiful, the fellowship was super, and love was all around.
Today is Friday, so thank you for the opportunity to remember last Sunday.
I've just recently found your blog and I love your work.
Hope your day was special, also.

Hi Kerry, Mother's Day was really special this year....we put two roses in church in memory of our mothers and then after church we got to pick up the beautiful pink roses and give them to our youngest daughter! She was one of the best gifts God ever gave us - the other two best gifts were our oldest daughter and our son.
