All My Santa's Quilt

Here is a photo of my latest quilt pattern.
I called it "All My Santa's" as the different Santa's I have designed over the years modelled for my quilt panel.
The name of the Santa's in the quilt are
Santa & His Snowmen,
Santa & Moosey,
Santa's Gifts,
Santa & Snowie.
I had so much fun painting and stitching the panel BUT I nearlly ran out of time to complete it for the AQM....so I called on my beautiful little sister Marg to help me with the applique blocks.....lol...in the end she completed three quarter of the blocks for me....so a big thank you to her xxx
A dear Friend of mine picked it up on the Monday afternoon and had it back to me Tuesday night quilted......a job well done...thanks ...
So as you can just see in the picture below it made it to the fair...

I had the AQM (Australian Wholesale Quilt Market ) 2 weeks ago in Melbourne. I will add a picture of my stand. You will have to let me know what you think of it...loll.. It was my first time on my own there sooooooo I was a little nervous BUT all went well, catching up with shop owners and other tutors I have had the pleasure teaching for and teaching with.

Off to Bendigo again this Friday to teach my latest Santa then back to Warrnambool for a painting fabric class...the last for the year.

Is anyone out there organised for Christmas yet ?... I can assure you I'm not...loll

Warraknabeal Workshop

My stand at the Bacchus Marsh Quilt Show.
Hi Everyone.
Hope you are all well.
I have been busy and a tad slow updating my blog...sorry.
Went to Warraknabeal for a workshop back in October, the same weekend the local patchwork group held their quilt exhibition. The local girls asked me to have a stand at their show and of course I said "yes" before I checked my diary.....so I had 2 places to be at on the same weekend didn't I ....lol...BUT a good friend of mine Vivienne came to the rescue and worked the stand at the local show for me on the Saturday.
Gail Pan and I traveled up to Warracknabeal together and had a great weekend.

Yarragon Workshop

My 3 projects for the weekend.
The patterns are now available.
Santa's Helper.
A Christmas Ball with 4 different painted panels.

Gift Table Placement Bag.
Gail, Viv, Amanda, Me and Natalie.
Some of the ladies hard at work.
What a wonderful day had by all at Candleberry Country's Workshop in Yarragon.
The tutors for the weekend were Amanda, Viv Robinson and Gail Pan.
The venue is a quaint, cosy hall, fantastic food and a bag full of goodies, what more could you want.
All my projects had a small section painted, so I conducted a mini fabric painting class. What fun the ladies had, most were worried that they couldn't paint BUT by the end of the day had their projects done ready for the stitching and very pleased with themselves.

Gold Coast

Hi.
I am just back from the Gold Coast, spent a few days up there with a friend of mine and her son while our men were on a car rally up through the middle of Australia.
The weather was beautiful, warm in the day, cold at night, just how I like it.
I did get a little sewing done while I was up there for the coming workshop in Yarragon. I will have to give you a peek of my projects over the next few days....so stay tuned...lol.
One day we went out whale watching....I felt as if the whales were playing hide and seek that day. Here is a picture of the back of 2 of the whale's that we saw.

We also went up to the new "Q Deck" while we were there...Boy!!!!! what an amazing view. It was well worth the visit.

What I have been up to.....

Hi everyone.
I have been flat out since my last post.
I did a Christmas in July fabric painting workshop at Pentland Patchwork, the local patchwork shop. We all had a wonderful day.
Thanks to a friend of mine Bernadette for the extra help and set of hands.

Another class I held was for a group of ladies from Bendigo. They rent a house in Dalesford and have for the last 2 years, they invited me up there for the day to show them how to do a little fabric painting and water colour pencils, what fun we had.
They would have completed 4 projects each, so they do have a little stitching to do over the next few months.
I still have a few workshops coming up in the next few months.
September in Yarragon.
October in Warrnambool and Warracknabeal.
November the AQM.
December back at Warrnambool.
If you would like to know more about these workshops or would be interested in coming please just contact me.

We arrive on the Friday afternoon and don't leave the place until the mid- day Sunday.
We all get a goodie bag full of surprises and giveaways all weekend.

New Design

Hi Everyone
Hope you are all well.
I have been busy working on a new design ..... not sure what to call it yet BUT am sure something will come to me before I finish it.
It has a big painted then stitched panel across the width of the quilt...I will give you a peek at each end of the design today and the middle section in a couple of days when I do a bit more of the stitching.
I am going away with a group of ladies this weekend called "quilters of the big room" to a local retreat. So I will take my panel and the patchwork section to work on in "peace" for a couple of days and hopefully nearly complete it.
I may even call upon you ladies to help with the naming of my quilt if I can't come up with something.....maybe a pattern of the quilt as the prize....ummmmm. sounds like a good idea......watch my site over the new couple of weeks to see the finished project and see what you can come up with.
Until then take care.
Cheers

Visiting Perth.

!!!!! Hi everyone !!!!!
I'm back........What a wonderful time I had in Perth.
Sue meet me at the airport and took me back to our lovely apartment right in the heart of the city which we called "home" for the next week.
We sat up until 1.30am the first night (which was 3.30am to me, my home time) catching up and planning our coming week.
The 1st day we spent at the "Stitches & Craft" show, there were some amazing quilts in the quilt display.
We went fabric, clothes, shoe, ball gown (for Sue), bag and watch shopping...lol...
We had a deluxe pedicure and reflexology massage on our sore feet...(after all that shopping) at "Revive Day Spa" what a fantastic treat that was.
We totally spoiled ourselves for the week.
Went on a night tour of Perth & Freemantle, stopping at "Ciccerello's" number 1 in fish & chips.
If you ever get the chance to visit Perth...go...it's a clean, beautiful City.
This cocky was painted on calico then machined stitched.
...Amazing...
Sue and I at "Ciccerello's"
